Monday May 4th

4:30 to 5:15 p.m. | Public Prep Virtual Studio Grades Pre K-1st (Free)
Intro to Acting with Education Coordinator and Actor Ariel Rosen
This fun class is specifically tailored for the youngest of our students as a general introduction theater and what an actor “does”. We will learn theater games, explore our imaginations to come up with characters, and develop the base your child needs to begin their love of the stage!

Stage Makeup 101 with Makeup Artist and Designer Nico Redondo
Join San Antonio theatrical designer and makeup artist, Nico Redondo. Nico has worked with almost every artistic venue in our city, including as Stage Manager, Prop, & Makeup Designer at The Woodlawn Theater and SeaWorld San Antonio. This master class will go over Stage Makeup basics, tips, and tools you need to have to be a well rounded onstage professional! Whether you want to follow along with your own makeup at home or just take notes, this class is sure to teach you a trick or two!

Tuesday May 5th

4:30 to 5:15 p.m. | Public Prep Virtual Studio Grades 2-3 (Free)
Character Development with Education Coordinator and Actor Ariel Rosen
Dive deep into a character by learning what it takes to develop one from scratch! Go over the process and execution of creating a background and base for a character to make them fully developed and as lifelike as any person you meet in the real world. Find out how to put in the work, analyze, develop, and fully fulfill yourself and your character at the same time!

Improv Skills with Actor James R. Welch
Learn how to act without a script and straight out of your imagination with this beginner’s course in improvisational acting! Train your brain to quickly respond to uncertain circumstances, learn fun (and funny) games, and find out why knowing what to say when there are no words is such an important tool for an actor.

7:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Virtual Studio: Meet the Artist (Donations)
Kick back and enjoy some time with theater artists. Ask the questions and find out about their story, what makes them motivated, specific techniques they use, and more about them and the craft they love. This week, join us in welcoming National theater artist Ken Urso, in the virtual studio!

Thursday May 7th

4:30 to 5:15 p.m  | Public Prep Virtual Studio Grades 6-8 (Free)
Musical Theater Dance Technique with Actor and Choreographer Kristin Silvestro McGregor
This class will teach foundational technique and basic musical theater dance moves to set the groundwork for your dance education or just give you a chance to refresh your skills! Learn how to make any room in the house into your personal dance studio and get your body moving from home!

Intro to Costume Design with Resident Costume Designer Michael Ciaramitaro
Have you ever wondered what it takes to design the costumes you see on The Public stage? Join us to learn the basics of costume sketching, how to match a character to their costume, how costumes are made, and tips from our very own costumer, Michael Ciaramitaro!
