Based on Adam Rubin’s bestselling children’s book and adapted by Ernie Nolan, Dragons Love Tacos opens Friday, Mar. 6, at the Magik Theatre, located in Hemisfair. Directed by Michelle Pietri, this is the San Antonio premiere. In keeping with the theme, the production is running during the local events Taco Fest: Music y Más and FIESTA.
While a boy and his dog are watching television, they find out what kinds of tacos to serve dragons, but they also learn that the creatures can’t stand spicy salsa, much to their chagrin. Dragons Love Tacos stars Jonathan Tucker (boy), Ginger Gamble Martel (Leroy), Martin Vidal (Man in Suit), Rosa Gardner (Yellow Dragon), Aaron Kenigsberg (White Dragon), Venny Mortimer (Red Dragon) and Randee Nelson (Blue Dragon).
“There’s something strangely universal about Dragons Love Tacos“, said the Magic Theatre’s Artistic Director Anthony Runfola. “No matter who you ask, they’re excited to see this story come to life onstage.”
