PASA Schedules Acting on Film Classes for Teens and Adults

 

Performing Arts San Antonio is pleased to offer a series of Professional Acting on Film Classes for both teens and adults.

Classes for teen acting begins June 9 and adult acting begins July 15. The classes focus on Creating Character, Scene Study and an Acting on Film Summer Camp. Class sizes are limited for both social distancing and to give each student proper attention. Teen Acting for Film/Theater — Creating Character

Beginning June 9, classes will be held Tuesdays at 6:30-8:30 p.m. through June 30. $100 fee. Starting on Zoom if necessary, the class will then move into the PASA Studio. Maximum six students to maintain social distancing when transferring to the Studio. This class focuses on learning how to fulfill the actions required by the character in order to create the vision for the scene that the director is looking for in an audition. All studio work is filmed and students receive a copy of the work.

PROJECTED: Broadway Prep Musical Theater Triple-Threat Summer Camp Production

Starting July 6, classes will be held Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. through July 31. thru July 31. $450 fee includes costumes, with three performances at the end of the camp. PASA is currently finalizing what the camp production will be, based upon the size of the cast if they are able to produce the show in the theater and adhere to the social distancing requirements at the time.

NOTE: If safety requirements won’t allow for the Broadway Prep Camp, PASA will schedule four one-week Musical Theater Performance Master Classes with showcases. They will beheld Monday thru Friday (dates TBD) from 10:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. Registration is $200 each session, with classes capped at eight students. Performances will be filmed.

Acting on Film Summer Camp

Classes will be held Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., July 13-17. $200 fee. Capped at eight students. Performance will be filmed.

If you could study acting with teachers trained by the same people who trained Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Sutton Foster, Jessica Lange, Patrick Swayze, Christopher Walken, Tom Selleck, Dennis Quaid and created productions like Pretty Woman, Happy Days, M*A*S*H, Oh God, Tootsie and Touched by an Angel, would you? If the answer is yes, then you should train with PASA founders Paul Tinder and Vaughn Taylor. They were trained by Warren Robertson, Bill Esper, Larry Moss, Herbert Berghof, Sal Dano and Charles Conrad who also trained those stars and were mentored by Garry Marshall, Gene Reynolds and Larry Gelbart.

Adult Summer Acting Class — Scene Study

Classes will be held Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. through 9:00 p.m., July 15-Aug. 5. Maximum 12 students. $100 fee. Intensive Character Development with film-style scripts.

Acting on Film Summer Camp

Classes will be held Monday thru Friday from 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. $200 fee. Capped at eight students. Performance will be filmed.
