Enjoy a Night of Live Music at the Briscoe

Kick back and kick up your heels on the banks of the River Walk at the Briscoe Western Art Museum’s event Sips and Sounds of the West. Filling the museum’s Jack Guenther Pavilion and McNutt Sculpture Garden, the evening features live music, drinks and food on Friday, August 4.

San Antonio’s preeminent classic country cover band The Texases will fill the evening with your favorite country hits from ‘66 to ’96 for a great date night or a night out with friends. With the option to be in the garden or indoors enjoying a cool breeze thanks to air conditioning, the evening is the perfect summer treat. The ticketed event begins at 6:30 p.m. with music 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and drinks and food from La Gloria’s food and margarita truck until 9 p.m.

Sips and Sounds of the West tickets are $15 for museum members and $20 for nonmembers. The event is for ages 18 and up. Tickets will be sold at the door as available.

A lush public outdoor space featuring a beautiful courtyard surrounded by bronze sculptures that depict iconic figures of the American West, the McNutt Sculpture Garden offers the perfect respite during any River Walk visit, with tables, chairs and benches to rest and enjoy the view. With the lights of downtown in the background, the garden becomes magical at night, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed night out.

Including the McNutt Sculpture Garden, the Briscoe’s acre and a half campus features 35 outdoor sculptures, including two overlooking the river. The Briscoe’s collection also fills 14 galleries in its restored 1930s building.

The museum is open Thursday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Briscoe is located on the south end of the River Walk, near the Arneson River Theatre and La Villita, with convenient parking at the Riverbend Garage directly adjacent to the museum or one of many downtown surface lots.
