Teatro Audaz Presents ‘Open Doors’ Oct. 11 and 12
Teatro Audaz continues its 2018-19 season with Open Doors, coming out stories from local San Antonio community members, actors and activists. This is the theater company’s homage to to The Moth radio hour on NPR.
Open Doors chronicles the struggles, trials and tribulations of both those who have paved the way in the Gay and Lesbian scene and others who have barely begun their story. The piece is co-directed by Jose DeHoyos and Analisa Leos-Garcia.
DeHoyos said, “Our rendition will leave you speechless and spellbound as a diversity of individuals share their curated coming out stories of pain, love and loss.
“As The Moth so eloquently states, ‘It is beyond theater, where entertainment and enlightenment merge.'”
The show will be presented in conjunction with the Bonham Exchange San Antonio, San Antonio’s current oldest Alternative Nightclub. Several pop-up organizations will visit prior to the performance, during intermission and afterwards.
