SAFILM Hosts ‘Broads & Brews’ With Producer Marcia Nasatir Oct. 7

Hollywood legend and glass ceiling breaker Marcia Nasatir returns to her hometown of San Antonio, Texas, to accept the 2018 INSPIRE Award from the San Antonio Independent School District Foundation (SAISD) at the 8th Annual Inspire Awards on Oct. 3, 2018 at the Mays Family Center at the Witte Museum.

As the first female Vice President of a major Hollywood Studio, United Artists (UA) in 1974, Nasatir, now 92 years old, paved the way for women to achieve executive power in the male-dominated movie industry. She is well known as the force behind such classics as Rocky, Carrie, Apocalypse Now, The Black Stallion and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

BROADS & BREWS EVENT ON SUNDAY, OCT. 7

SAFILM-San Antonio Film Festival will host Broads & Brews, an encore screening of A Classy Broad: Marcia’s Adventures in Hollywood, a documentary film on Nasatir’s career from director Anne Goursaud (Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Outsiders) at Alamo Beer Company, 202 Lamar, on Sunday, October 7th, starting at 4:00 p.m. There will also be a Meet & Greet with Ms. Nasatir, and the film will screen at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available at Eventbrite – http://bit.ly/Broads_Brews.
