Legendary British Rockers The Zombies Coming to the Paper Tiger

The Zombies, the iconic British pop legends (“She’s Not There,” “Time of the Season”) are coming to the Paper Tiger on Thurs., February 28, to perform a mix of classic and recent works, including tracks from their latest album, Still Got That Hunger.

The Zombies are led by founding and current members, vocalist Colin Blunstone and keyboardist Rod Argent, along with Steve Rodford on drums and renowned session guitarist Tom Toomey. The newest member, Søren Koch, joined the band following the untimely passing of their beloved bassist Jim Rodford (formerly of ARGENT and The Kinks) in early 2018.

The popularity of The Zombies’ music, in keeping with their name, shows no sign of dying. Their unsurpassed oeuvre continues to influence musicians around the world, whether they be original fans such as Tom Petty and Pat Metheney, or relative youngsters like REM, Beck, Pavement and Paul Weller.

And contemporary, cutting-edge American and U.K. acts, including Austin’s own Spoon, Fountains of Wayne, Badly Drawn Boy, Belle & Sebastian and Super Furry Animals are just the latest in a long line of musicians to pay homage to The Zombies.

The band’s live performances, described by Rolling Stone as “absolutely triumphant”, take fans on a journey through time from their early hits and post-Zombies solo favorites, right up to today with Still Got That Hunger.

Their swan-song album, Odessey & Oracle, ranks at number 100 in Rolling Stone’s ‘500 Greatest Albums of All Time,’ and the Zombies are slated to be inducted into the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

This is a rare opportunity to see some authentic rock icons performing in San Antonio. The Paper Tiger is located at 2410 North Saint Mary’s Street, and doors open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be reserved here.
